Cardiology Technologist Job Summary

The Cardiology Technologist is responsible for performing electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring. This role requires strong communication skills to explain procedures to patients and answer their questions. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Cardiology Technology and be certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ECG testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring
  • Explain procedures to patients and answer their questions
  • Scan and analyze ECG test strips, selecting and assessing portions for interpretation by medical staff
  • Enter patient test information into Meditech for Electronic Health Records
  • Maintain equipment and complete requisitions for repair
  • Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and departments
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Cardiology Technology
  • Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal with others
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
