The Business Analyst position at SickKids requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting OR leadership and clinical teams in interpreting, understanding, and applying operational data to make informed decisions.
Key responsibilities include conducting data analysis to support operational activity, supporting ongoing assessment of operational performance, and supporting surgical service and Hospital-based initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains operational data sets, including optimal case length duration by surgeon.
- Conducts data validation to ensure accurate activity tracking for targeted populations.
- Supports analysis to optimize surgical time allocation to each surgical service.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree program related to health science or business preferred, with experience in data analytics and/or management consulting.
- Strong planning, organizational, financial modeling, and computer skills, including superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with larger database and reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative ideas to a non-technical audience, with solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
