Job Title: Financial Controller

Go2STAFFING is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for a specialty chemical company with multiple international branches and several family-owned holding companies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the internal accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure company financial information is fairly stated.
  • Prepare monthly income, receivables, payables, cash flow, and balance statements, and assist with planning of sales management activities.
  • Communicate with customers on an as-needed basis and review expenses to ensure signoffs for all expense statements are obtained.
  • Organize audits and assist external auditors as required, and work with external accounting firms on tax management and tax filings.
  • Keep up to date with accounting changes in Canada, the US, and the EU, and create corporate metrics necessary to ensure targets are being met.
  • Manage external communications to authorities, regulators, etc. on all financial matters, and build processes to add checks and balances to all financial processes.
  • Manage payroll (through ADP) and commission calculations and payout for staff, and liaise with and coordinate the work of external accountants.
  • Maintain and manage banking relationships and banking activities, and attend and participate fully in internal management and all-staff meetings.
Requirements:
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage complex financial operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with the full Management Team and Regional Sales Directors.
  • Ability to keep up to date with accounting changes in Canada, the US, and the EU, and create corporate metrics necessary to ensure targets are being met.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
