Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our proactive, operational, and reactive cybersecurity posture, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) to oversee key monitoring services, including vulnerability management, EDR, secure email gateway, and SIEM services.
- Collaborate with various Business Unit stakeholders, MSSP, and cybersecurity vendors to provision and maintain operational and monitoring tools.
- Respond to, redirect, or escalate queries related to cybersecurity operations and potential threats, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Oversee security training and awareness programs for our organization.
- Develop and maintain documentation of cybersecurity operations, including executive reports, summaries, memos, runbooks, policies, plans, and procedures.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to inform technical and tactical assessments of information operations, processes, and architectures.
- Conduct technical and operational analysis of alternatives between multiple technical approaches and develop actionable courses of action.
- Support the Global Cybersecurity Operations Manager in new projects and other security initiatives as required.
- Assess the need to investigate potential security incidents and determine the degree to which the investigation must happen.
- Determine the need to escalate a security incident to management.
- Act as a technical advisor during a cybersecurity incident response invocation, liaising with other technical responders within our organization, forensic experts, and associated MSSPs.
- Collaborate with our organization and member firms to review and report on remedial actions.
- Equivalent post-high school education and/or work-related experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology-related fields.
- Data-driven, curious, and independent thinker with excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience in IT Operations, Information Security, or a combination of relevant experience.
- Operational expertise in vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, logging and monitoring, Windows client and server operating systems, and cloud architecture.
