Electrical Engineer Opportunity at Wood

Wood is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals team in Saskatoon, SK. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and innovative projects in the mining and consulting industries.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power systems and experience in supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical, or similar process industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CSA and IEEE standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and Saskatchewan Amendments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical projects from concept to completion, overseeing a team of technical professionals and managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and design.
  • Develop and implement electrical systems designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a completed course in power systems.
  • Registration as an Engineer in the province of Saskatchewan or ability to transfer Canadian PEng from another province.
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.
  • 8 years of engineering experience, preferably in supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical, or similar process industries.
  • Knowledge of CSA and IEEE standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and Saskatchewan Amendments.
