Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Camp Counsellor to join our team at YMCA Calgary. As a Camp Counsellor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive environment for our campers, while also supporting the development of our staff team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and facilitation of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and team-building exercises.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of camp programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to campers, while also promoting their independence and self-confidence.
  • Participate in risk management and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all campers and staff.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive camp culture.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children in an outdoor setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to the YMCA values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.
