Job SummaryThe Executive Director, Risk and Safety Services is responsible for leading our risk management and safety initiatives. This includes overseeing the Risk Management, Security Services, and Safety & Research Compliance Services departments. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure a safe and secure environment for our students, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats to the university
- Oversee the Risk Management, Security Services, and Safety & Research Compliance Services departments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address safety and security concerns
- Develop and implement emergency management plans to ensure the safety of our community
- Provide leadership and direction to the Risk & Safety Services team
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in campus safety, security, risk management, or a related field
- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects
- Security & Investigations License
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in campus safety and security, insurance, risk management, and OH&S
- Proficiency in using relevant technology and software applications
- A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close
We offer a competitive salary range of $130,099 - $196,548 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
