Assistant Drafting Manager

Overview
Reporting to the Drafting Manager, you will lead the Broadview/Sterling Drafting department as the Assistant Drafting Manager. You will provide management, design, and technical expertise to support the business unit's goals. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining standard home plans, reviewing and creating design work for construction.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of new product offerings, including distinct architectural facades and plan development. Prepare and adjust standard home plans to reflect market demand and industry trends.
- Prepare and submit preliminary and final plot plans based on specifications and legislation.
- Collaborate with sales to prepare and finalize customized home plans according to customer requests and design requirements. Review and prepare final drawings for homeowner approvals.
- Complete drawings and specifications for developer approvals, making adjustments as needed.
- Prepare correspondence documentation for permit applications to municipalities and send permits to trades accordingly.
- Monitor the work performance of the department, review weekly project progress schedules, and revise them as necessary.
- Mentor, develop, and provide guidance to Design team members.
- Maintain a knowledge base of applicable municipal bylaws and building codes for all projects. Develop and apply structural and mechanical requirements in design.
- Prepare and maintain brochure materials for marketing product offerings. Review and approve product renderings.
- Review the constructability of homes and leverage opportunities for value engineering.

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Design or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of design and drafting experience.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Team, SharePoint and PowerPoint), and architectural drafting software (SoftPlan, AutoCAD, Revit).
