Overview
The Drafting Technician is responsible for creating accurate and detailed drawings for precast concrete components, utilizing CAD software and technical expertise to ensure precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction and production drawings, including hardware details and material lists.
- Lay out drawings consistent with company standards and practices.
- Project document and information retrieval to ensure drawing accuracy and completion.
- Ensure project documents are archived according to company policy.
- Plan and organize work priorities to meet customer schedules and demand.
- Ability to interpret specifications related to the construction industry.
- Assist in other endeavors as required.
- Support the continual improvement of the company safety culture.
Requirements:
- Two or three years of Technician or Technology training from a technical college.
- Proficient in drafting construction drawings and shop drawings with AutoCAD.
- Computer skills training programs or equivalent work experience, including software applications such as Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum three years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience in Precast Concrete Industry is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good work ethics and a can-do attitude.
- 3D modeling skill with Revit is an asset.
- Capable of reading and understanding specifications, architectural and structural drawings.
