Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonary Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and education in pulmonary rehabilitation.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a physiotherapist with experience in pulmonary rehabilitation. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans. Your expertise in respiratory education, assessment, and exercise programs will be instrumental in helping patients achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline.
  2. Conduct assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education on airway clearance for bronchiectasis clients.
  3. Collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
  4. Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Supervise students and provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a clinical physiotherapist.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience working in pulmonary rehabilitation with chronic respiratory conditions in an adult population.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in providing disease-specific patient education for self-management, both virtually and in-person, for groups and 1:1.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of recent experience working in a community setting.
  • Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) designation or in process of obtaining CRE designation.
  • Completion of the Foundational Health Educator course.
  • Experience leading education and exercise groups, both in-person and virtually.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
