Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Team Member/Baker/Kitchen Assistant to join our team at SCOTIAN ISLE BAKED GOODS. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of high-quality meat pies and other baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Filling orders for distribution and ensuring timely delivery
  • Working within time limits to meet production targets
  • Organizing staff and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure high-quality products
  • Baking, cooling, and packaging meat pies and other baked goods
  • Assisting in production management, including filling topping and baking
  • Packing products into boxes and preparing for distribution
  • Order filling and product delivery organization and distribution
  • Providing general production assistance on the production lines
  • Cleaning and sanitizing production areas between product switch overs and at the end of the shift

Requirements:

  • Ability to multitask and think quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high standards of quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Food handler certificate and at least 2 years of commercial production kitchen experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment with clear and effective communication
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, carrying a positive attitude and being courteous to fellow workers
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to perform manual lifting, stacking, loading, and unloading up to approximately 25kg
