About the Role

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled carpenter who can work independently and as part of a team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Instructing apprentices and supervising other workers
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
