Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to facilitate optimal function and independence.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience working with burns, plastics, and orthopedic patient populations an asset. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client. They will also provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers, and contribute to the development of occupational therapy services within the organization.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
- Previous experience working with burns, plastics, and orthopedic patient populations considered an asset
- Previous experience in custom splinting and fabrication considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect and safety
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
This is a long-assignment, part-time position with a 60-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will work approximately 14 months.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly rate for this position is $33.97 - $42.89. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
