The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Riverview Gardens Long-Term Care facility. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treatments, and performing various medical procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for each resident, taking into account their unique needs and preferences.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor resident health and make adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
- Completion of a Registered Nurse diploma program or a BScN degree program.
- Previous general registered nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- This position works indoors, with frequent exposure to residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive impairment.
- Regular Part-Time Category A Nurses will be scheduled a minimum of four (4) tours per bi-weekly pay period and may be scheduled up to two (2) additional tours per bi-weekly pay period based on their availability by seniority and equitably.
- Regular Part-Time Category B Nurses must be available for scheduling twelve (12) months of the year. Nurses cannot make themselves unavailable for scheduling. They may be scheduled a minimum of two (2) tours per (2) two-week pay period.
This position will receive 15% in lieu of benefits following the successful completion of a probationary period and 4% vacation pay.
