Role Overview:

As a Project Principal, you will be the key contact for clients and work closely with our team to establish lasting relationships. With our expansion into multiple regions, you will play a crucial role in developing our internal knowledge systems and mentoring junior engineering staff.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad expertise in building science, including masonry, windows, curtain walls, waterproofing, sealants, EIFS, site pavements, and various cladding systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead and senior peer reviewer for projects, overseeing the quality of documents produced by project managers and junior staff.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare detailed technical reports on parking garages, roofing, building envelopes, and leakage assessments.
  • Develop specifications and manage the tendering process for projects.
  • Drive business development by identifying new project and client opportunities and leading proposal efforts.
  • Represent the company at industry events to enhance our technical profile and visibility within the sector.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate standards and contribute to the development of building restoration technical practices, while also training junior staff.
  • Oversight of projects from initiation through investigation, specification, and construction phases to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Accurate and timely invoicing, management of receivables, and maintenance of financial oversight of projects.
  • Foster long-term client relationships through effective project management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architectural, structural, or civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience working as a building science consultant.
  • Two years or more of experience managing projects and clients.
  • Licenses: (PEng) Advantageous.

This position requires strong oral and written communication abilities, especially in technical writing and presentation. A cooperative approach to addressing issues is essential. Prior experience with energy modeling is beneficial. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
