About ITREB's Academic Coaching Program

ITREB's Program for Academic Coaching and Enrichment (PACE) is a comprehensive initiative that focuses on math and literacy support for children in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our program is designed to empower young leaders by developing their academic skills, fostering confidence, and promoting resilience.

About the Tutor Role

As a tutor with PACE, you will work with students in their assigned grade level, which will be determined based on your preference and comfort level:

  • Facilitate small-group math and English language sessions once a week with students using workbooks, homework, and digital technology (IXL).
  • Cover relevant math and language topics according to the provincial curriculum; lesson plans and training will be provided.
  • Encourage students to build their math and language skills and promote student independence.
  • Tutoring sessions will be held in designated classrooms.

About the Ideal Candidate

  • Be engaging and enthusiastic in their approach.
  • Enjoy working with students and have a passion for education.
  • Be reliable, responsible, and punctual in their commitments.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Have knowledge of the Alberta curriculum (not a requirement).
  • Speak Dari, Farsi, or Urdu (not a requirement).
