We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maternity Nurse Specialist to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our Labour and Birth team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of our nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years' recent experience in a maternity setting with a labour and birth component.
- Current neonatal resuscitation certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
