We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Dental Care Specialist to join our team at The Regional Municipality of York. As a key member of our dental care program, you will be responsible for providing clinical dental services, advising and directing clinical support staff, and promoting oral health and access to our services.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with staff and clients. You must have a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from a university recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and be eligible to practice clinical dentistry in Ontario.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a broad range of basic dental treatment, including dental restorations, extractions, oral hygiene procedures, and root canal treatment on selected teeth.
- Perform emergency dental procedures and meet with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns.
- Verify and apply medical history prior to treatment, referring clients for medical testing if necessary.
- Receive referrals from private dental and medical providers and make referrals to other appropriate dental practices and specialists.
- Maintain patient records of treatments and recommend and develop program policies.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to provide clients with access to social/health/community resources.
- Successful completion of a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from a university recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
- Eligibility to practice clinical dentistry in Ontario.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts, and Regulations.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Other benefits include opportunities for professional growth and development, a comprehensive benefits package, and a collaborative work environment.
LocationThis role is based in Vaughan and Richmond Hill locations, offering excellent access to public transportation and amenities.
