Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing distribution pharmacy services, ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, and providing instructions to clients on proper use and administration.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret medication orders/prescriptions and dispense medications using a computerized medication information system
- Assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability and ensure that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed
- Communicate with physicians, clients, and other healthcare team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution
- Provide instructions to clients on proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications
- Participate in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects and quality control activities
- Maintain records for narcotic and controlled drugs, special access program drugs, and departmental statistics
- Participate in the orientation of pharmacy students, residents, technicians, assistants, and new staff members
- Contribute to internal publications and participate in clinical drug trials
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Knowledge of drug distribution processes in a community setting
- Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal, and written skills
- Ability to exercise professional judgment while upholding legislative requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
