Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Pharmacist in our Community Pharmacy Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret medication orders and prescriptions, and dispense medications using a computerized medication information system in accordance with legal, professional, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability by assessing the client's health status and needs, and exercising appropriate professional judgment to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, clients, and other healthcare team members to resolve prescription clarification and problem resolution issues.
  • Provide instructions to others on proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications, and provide medication counseling to clients and their representatives as required.
  • Participate in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, and contribute to internal publications and clinical drug trials as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of drug distribution processes in a community setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate verbal, non-verbal, and written skills.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate professional judgment while upholding legislative requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare practitioners, clients, family members, and the public.
