Key Responsibilities
The Facilities Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security. This will involve conducting routine inspections, addressing maintenance requests from tenants and stakeholders, and developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans to minimize system downtime. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for tenants, ensuring their satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution. They will also oversee tenant onboarding and offboarding processes, develop and manage the annual operating budget, and provide regular financial reports to Siksika Nation leadership. Furthermore, they will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, develop and enforce building policies, procedures, and emergency response plans, and monitor building security and implement safety measures for tenants and visitors. Finally, they will implement sustainability practices to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact, monitor energy usage, and recommend efficiency upgrades.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or electrical), facilities management, or a related field. Certification in building systems or facilities management is an asset. You will also require minimum 10 years of experience in building management, engineering, or facilities operations, with experience working with Indigenous communities being highly desirable. Key skills and competencies include strong knowledge of building systems, exceptional project management and organizational skills, proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and procurement, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, familiarity with energy management systems and sustainability practices, and comprehensive knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Additionally, you will need to be able to work non-standard hours during emergencies or project deadlines, participate in community events and cultural initiatives, and hold a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Benefits and Compensation
Siksika Nation offers a competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits plan and opportunities for professional growth. The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000.00 and $90,000.00 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include three weeks vacation, 15 sick days, three personal days, health benefits after three months, and a pension match up to 7.6% per year.
