Visual Designer for Building Automation Systems

We are seeking a talented Visual Designer to join our team at Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI. This role will be involved in designing graphical interface screens for building automation system operator workstations.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with engineering technicians, service technicians, and customers to understand the visual and operational needs of each unique job and organize the graphics and data in an intuitive manner.
Responsibilities:- Design Graphical User Interfaces based on mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and controller databases.
- Create visual graphics to support the sales department as needed.
- Communicate with customers and service teams to improve the usability of the UI.
- Identify inefficiencies in the graphics creation process and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
- Work individually or coordinate with team members to complete larger projects on schedule.
- Implement design solutions in a cost-efficient manner.
- Organize information from multiple sources and communicate with other teams or customers when further information is required.
- Use creative thinking to design new graphical assets when needed to improve the display of information.
- Strong understanding of web-based design/layouts/iconography.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator).
- Bonus: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS.
- Ability to communicate and work in teams.
- Visualization and implementation of design solutions quickly and cost efficiently.
- Experience with 3D modelling/rendering and image editing/Photoshop an asset.
- Strong, clean visual design sense with understanding of digital design fundamentals.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Good customer relations skills.
