Job Title: Recreation Technician

At Hawkesbury General Hospital & District General Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Technician to join our team. As a Recreation Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients by providing recreational activities and promoting a culture of wellness and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreational programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our patients.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Provide education and counseling on leisure activities and recreation to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Support the development of individualized recreation plans that address the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Work closely with Occupational Therapists to ensure a seamless and effective rehabilitation process.

Requirements:

  • College degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related field.
  • Registered member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario.
  • 1 year of experience working with the elderly.
  • Relevant healthcare experience.
  • Valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills in both English and French.
