Job Title: Recreation Clerk

Job Summary:

The Recreation Clerk provides exceptional customer service to the public, handling program registration, facility admissions, and cash transactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Front-Line Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to the public, answering inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  2. Program Registration and Facility Admissions: Register patrons for programs and events, and admit visitors to the facility, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  3. Cash Handling and Transactions: Process cash transactions, reconcile daily cash, and balance cash drawers, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  4. Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Emergency Procedures: Know and follow emergency procedures, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff.
  6. Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the lobby, washrooms, and change rooms, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.
  7. Other Duties: Perform other related duties as required, supporting the Recreation Department's goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Completion of Grade 12.
  2. Experience: Minimum of one year related experience in retail, bookkeeping, or clerical work.
  3. Skills: Ability to operate related software and equipment, accurate typing speed of 55 wpm, and first aid certification.
  4. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with co-workers and the public.

Working Conditions:

This position is located at the Terrace Aquatic Centre or the Sportsplex, and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A criminal record check will be required prior to hiring.
