Job Summary

The Analyst, Research will report to the Vice President, Global Research & Strategy and work closely with members of the Global Research team to support the global investment mandate of QuadReal. QuadReal's Global Research team is responsible for conducting property market, capital market and macroeconomic research on major real estate markets in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis of global real estate market trends by tracking and interpreting data on economics, demographics, and capital markets
  • Assist in real estate investment underwriting and contributing to investment memoranda by providing market analysis
  • Conduct research on international markets, investment themes, and trends (particular focus on global markets, Asia Pacific, Europe, and United States) to help inform investment decisions
  • Support the advancement of identifying and applying quantitative methods/tools to improve further insight and efficiency in analysis
  • Contribute to and assist in the development of presentations on market trends and strategies
  • Update and maintain proprietary databases, tools, and models
  • Keep current on major political, economic, and market events that impact real estate investments internationally
  • Collaborate with members of the research, investment, and international teams located in Vancouver and other international offices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline with strong academic credentials and a passion for real estate.
  • Minimum 1-3+ years' experience preferably in real estate or institutional investment (investment management, pension fund, brokerage firm, development company, private equity, etc.), research, finance, or economics. Some international experience may be considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate, synthesize, and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
  • Strong in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Strong aptitude to learn and use research and data tools. Experience or skills with Power BI, handling large datasets, and visualization tools a plus.
  • Must be extremely proactive and work well in a collaborative environment. A demonstrated self-starter with the ability to take guidance and move projects forward independently.
