Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented R&D Operations Coordinator to join our team at Zymeworks. As a key member of our Early Research & Development (eR&D) Department, you will be responsible for facilitating the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment, as well as coordinating with staff, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate Purchase Requests (PRs) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the processing of change orders and updates to internal systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transportation carriers to ensure delivery requirements are met.
  • Work with eR&D and Accounts Payable to approve invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Initiate new vendors in the SAP system and facilitate resolution of onboarding issues.
  • Take ownership of the purchasing process for the eR&D department and make process improvements as needed.
  • Foster effective working relationships with fellow employees, management, external partners, and vendors.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and provide progress updates.
Requirements
  • University degree or diploma in a science or business-related discipline.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in biotech, pharmacy, or science-related fields is an asset.
  • Previous experience with SAP and Ariba (or other ERP or purchasing software) is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing standards, policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Familiarity with science-based disciplines.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
