Daniels Sharpsmart Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to provide leadership and management of the Canadian Accounting department. This is a key role that requires close collaboration with the Global CFO.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly financial statements and annual audit coordination.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and analyze variances to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and safeguards for revenue, capital costs, and expenditures.
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate accounting and payroll tax remittances.
  • Provide guidance on CRA compliance, including provincial and corporate taxes, installments, payroll source deductions, and sales taxes.
  • Ensure accurate billing of customers and responsible for cash, receivables, and collections.
Team Leadership:
  • Leverage strengths of team members and develop training programs to maximize individual and organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications and create a positive work environment.
  • Work with leadership on new and current business profitability and performance.
Requirements:
  • BS/CPA and a minimum of 6 years' of Public Accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels.
