Job Summary

The Halton Catholic District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students with special needs in our elementary and secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering daily programs and providing care for students with special needs
  • Implement Board-approved programs, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, academic, and behavioral programs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including Down Syndrome, Autism, and behavioral concerns
  • Assist with toileting, feeding, lifting, and diapering as required
Requirements
  • Community College Educational Support Diploma or related field of study
  • Minimum one year of experience supporting individuals with special needs
  • Proven ability to work as a team member, with high sensitivity and diplomacy
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and cope with stressful situations
  • Capacity to engage with diverse communities and skilled in consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies
