Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Railway System Design Engineer to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will work on large-scale railway projects, designing and implementing safe and durable systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop system, subsystem, and interface requirements by analyzing customer and train control domain needs.
  • Support system architecture, focusing on integrating Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems.
  • Design and optimize communication networks, covering wired and wireless requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and assess third-party communication network integration with CBTC.
  • Work on data engineering, managing and optimizing data for key train control functions.
  • Perform feasibility analysis and simulations to identify design requirements.
  • Define and update processes and standards based on systems engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve issues during analysis and field testing.
  • Ensure safety is built into designs by identifying and resolving safety defects early.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a related technical engineering field.
  • Experience in developing software-based system applications.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and the system development life cycle.
  • Experience with tools like DOORS and other similar software.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling systems and systems engineering principles.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
