Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and estimate design engineering effort on projects from conception to completion.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and review project designs, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Develop project strategies to ensure quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
  • Interpret project specifications and scope to ensure conformity with company practices and sound engineering principles.
  • Review and approve designs to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Provide coordination and support to discipline teams and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Monitor design changes, contract extras, and support development of change orders.
  • Act as the main technical contact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Make recommendations on complex technical aspects of WSP projects.
  • Complete feasibility studies and technical report writing.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers in the development of their skills and training.
Requirements
  • Graduate in Engineering.
  • P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation.
  • 7-10 years of direct project engineering experience in the energy industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality work under competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven independent project leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in concept and developed design optimization programs.
  • Knowledge of client and corporate procedures.
  • Sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information.
