We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced law enforcement professional to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a police officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
- Investigate crimes and gather evidence to support prosecutions
- Provide support and assistance to the public, including responding to emergency calls and providing information and guidance
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to address crime and safety issues
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and procedures
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid Ontario driver's license or provincial equivalent
- Have a Basic Constable Training Diploma from the Ontario Police College or equivalent
- Have successfully completed a probationary period with a police service or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 2 years policing experience (preferable)
- Be in good standing with their current or previous service
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with varying shifts and schedules. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
