Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at Bigras Transport Inc. in Gatineau, Outaouais. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of school buses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain school buses to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Conduct road tests to identify any issues with the vehicles
  • Complete detailed reports and work orders to document maintenance activities
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs as needed
  • Follow up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure all vehicles are properly maintained
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Monitor warranties and issue parts release slips on work orders
  • Organize the workshop, including equipment and store management
  • Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Requirements:

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics, electric propulsion, and hydraulic brakes
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software
  • PEP card (an asset)
  • Valid Canadian work permit
