Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Company: Bigras Transport inc.

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at Bigras Transport inc. in Gatineau, Outaouais. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our school buses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain school buses
  • Carry out road tests
  • Complete mechanical maintenance reports and work orders
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP)
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and keep inventory up to date
  • Monitor warranties
  • Issue parts release slips on work orders
  • Organize workshop (equipment, store)
  • Research technical documentation
  • Clean work and wash areas
  • Install radio, camera and GPS equipment on new vehicles
  • Detect mechanical problems

Requirements:

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook and Allison software
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes
  • PEP card (an asset)
  • Hold a valid Canadian work permit
