Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled Psychosocial Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community engagement team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders in the field of Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in the field of MHPSS programs.
    • Participate in coordination meetings on MHPSS community needs and programs.
    • Gather and share information on MHPSS resources and best practices with stakeholders.
    • Advocate for client-centered mental health support.
  • Project Management:
    • Support collaborative partnerships and grants development for community-based recovery projects.
    • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of grant projects.
    • Facilitate project launch and monitoring meetings.
    • Review reports submitted by funded partners.
  • Capacity Building:
    • Provide capacity building initiatives in impacted communities.
    • Support organization-wide capacity building efforts.
    • Participate in readiness activities organized by MHPSS teams.

Requirements:

  • Degree in social work, nursing, psychology, or related field.
  • Registration with governing body preferred.
  • Experience in project management or community engagement.
  • Training in Psychological First Aid (PFA) required.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote work with occasional travel.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours based on operational needs.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is a must.
  • Pre-employment screening including a police check will be required.
