Job Title: Psychosocial Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychosocial Support Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. As a key member of our community engagement team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of relationships with external stakeholders and contributing to the delivery of mental health and psychosocial support programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and other partners.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of mental health and psychosocial support programs, including project management and monitoring.
  • Support capacity building initiatives in impacted communities, including training and workshops on psychological first aid.
  • Participate in readiness activities and exercises organized by the MHPSS Provincial/Territorial and National teams.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in social work, nursing, education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of job-related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration with a governing body and in good standing.
  • Experience in project management, community engagement, and development work.
  • Completion of Psychological First Aid Instructor training or willingness to complete.
  • Experience in living or working in a cultural context other than their own.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will primarily require remote work or work from a home environment.
  • Periodic travel to partner meetings and/or community visits may be required.
