Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Assist in planning and implementing recreation programs that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
  • One-on-One Support: Provide personalized support to residents, ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
  • Care and Services: Observe and report on resident care and services, ensuring high-quality support.
  • Volunteer and Community Resources: Coordinate with volunteers and community resources to enhance resident experiences.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with peers to coordinate activities and ensure seamless communication.
  • Equipment Management: Manage recreation equipment, including inventory and maintenance, to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Event Setup and Cleanup: Assist with event setup and cleanup, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Compliance: Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, prioritizing resident and staff safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Residential Care Experience: Previous experience in a residential care setting is considered an asset.
  • Education: Completion of high school diploma is required.
  • Driver's License: A valid provincial class 4 driver's license is an asset.
  • CPR and First Aid: Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset.
  • ProServe Certificate: ProServe certificate is preferred.
  • Interpersonal and Organizational Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and problem-solve, are essential.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Criminal Record Check: A clear Police Information Check is required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check: A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: COVID-19 vaccination proof is required. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
