Job Summary

The successful incumbent will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve length of stay goals. Responsibilities include assisting the emergency team, collecting blood specimens and ECGs, and maintaining inventory and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the emergency team to achieve departmental goals
  • Collect blood specimens and ECGs in the ED
  • Maintain inventory and ensure adequate stock for day-to-day operation
  • Monitor and maintain PPID equipment
Qualifications

Halton Healthcare seeks individuals who are competent in their chosen profession and exemplify our mission, vision, and values. Required qualifications include:

  • Minimum of one year relevant experience as a healthcare provider in an Emergency department
  • Knowledge of laboratory computer systems
  • Medical Terminology required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be physically able to do the job
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
Additional Information

This is a temporary part-time position, approximately 1 year in duration. Hours of work will be Monday to Sunday, various rotating 10-12 hour shifts, subject to change based on operational requirements.
