Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Absolute Contracting. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and joining wood and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the trade
  • Carpenter Trade Certification
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own vehicle
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Judgement and reliability
  • Team player with values and ethics
