Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Build It Back. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, repairing, and applying a layer of adhesive.
- Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile placement.
- Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives to secure tiles in place.
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- Align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on tile installation techniques.
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles as needed.
- Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
- Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite.
- Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
- Install tile strips to complete the installation.
The Tile Setter will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and high expectations. The job requires physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work at heights. The successful candidate will be able to lift heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
Requirements:- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in tile installation.
- Ability to work at heights and lift heavy loads.
- Hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
