About the Role:

The University of Toronto's Department of Physics invites applications for a Research Associate position in the experimental high energy physics group. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge research projects, working closely with our faculty and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the production, installation, and commissioning of the ITk, a solid-state sensor system for the ATLAS Experiment at CERN.
  • Collaborate with international researchers to advance our understanding of particle physics and its applications.
  • Manage and lead a team of researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students in the assembly and testing of silicon detector modules.
  • Develop and implement project management and database management tools to support research initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in particle physics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, assembly, and testing of microelectronics systems or silicon tracking detectors.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in an international team.
  • Proficiency in project management and database management tools, such as MS Excel, Google Docs, and Python.
