About the Position

The Personal Support Worker will be an integral member of the Nursing team at Tri-County Mennonite Homes. This position is responsible for providing basic care and needs of residents, performing specific interventions from individual resident care plans, and assisting in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in the residents' physical and emotional condition.

Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered care to residents in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures of the Retirement Homes Act and the Home.
  • Administer medications as required, with training provided for medication administration.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and emotional condition to the Nursing team.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual resident care plans.
Requirements
  • Personal Support Worker certificate from an accredited Ontario Community College or a Registered Private College.
  • Comprehensive skills and knowledge of providing person-centered care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures of the Retirement Homes Act and the Home.
  • Medication administration experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of the Residents' Bill of Rights and respect for these rights.
