Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our team at our Burnaby head office. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Process semi-monthly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Financial Analysis: Track sales and calculate commission, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure timely payment of WCB and related remittances, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Update monthly internal reports for cost control, providing stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information.
  • Financial Policy Management: Maintain and update HR and accounting policies and filing systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Asset Management: Manage asset inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of company assets.
  • Financial Planning: Monitor project budget and cost, providing recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • Education: 2-year accounting diploma, with a payroll certificate preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of payroll and/or accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial operations.
  • Skills: Excellent data analytical skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Language: Proficient in English communication, with speaking Mandarin a must.
