POSITION SUMMARY
As part of one of Canada's rapidly expanding insurance brokerages, the Marketing Strategy and Communications Lead will play a pivotal role in developing and executing a thorough and measurable marketing plan. Following an extensive onboarding process to understand our services, clientele, and operational workflows, this individual will be responsible for assembling and guiding a dedicated marketing team to address our dynamic marketing requirements and serve as the primary liaison with the central Office Marketing team. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, proactive, and comfortable seeking clarity on client needs, whether internal or external. A commitment to mastering the complexities of the insurance brokerage sector is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a talent for fostering a collaborative atmosphere, are critical.
The Marketing Strategy and Communications Lead will engage in a diverse array of projects aimed at enhancing our sales offerings, specialized programs, and overall client experience. This individual will stay informed about contemporary marketing and communication practices, applying their expertise in layout, typography, and visual design to elevate the Jones DesLauriers multi-line experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and implement marketing strategies that align with business objectives to enhance brand visibility and boost customer engagement.
- Oversee all marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, content creation, website management, social media outreach, email campaigns, advertising, and events.
- Assist the team in developing brand materials such as brochures, presentations, and proposals.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to synchronize marketing efforts with business goals and product/service offerings.
- Provide creative direction for content development, including photography, video production, and copywriting.
- Manage marketing budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of marketing professionals, offering guidance and support to foster their growth and success.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously refine marketing strategies and tactics.
- Contribute to content creation by producing and revising marketing materials across various formats, ensuring consistency in style, quality, and tone of voice, while optimizing for different channels.
- Support internal communications by developing a strategy that includes key elements, communication channels, and engagement initiatives, while preparing materials in collaboration with the Human Resources team to enhance transparency and employee involvement.
- Maintain and organize marketing resources, ensuring they are current and accessible for team use, while leading training on these resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, accompanied by a relevant portfolio.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing management position.
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with WordPress and basic website content management.
- Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics and marketing automation systems.
- Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere.
- Strong skills in the MS Office Suite, particularly in creating visually compelling presentations and proposals.
- Basic copywriting experience is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
