Job Title: Recreation Aide

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team at River Ridge II Retirement Residence. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing recreational activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate recreational activities, including sports, games, movies, crafts, music, and other events
  • Set up and clean up equipment for activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for residents
  • Work closely with the Health and Wellness Director to ensure all residents receive the best possible care and support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, understanding their needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective recreation program

Requirements:

  • High degree of interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and colleagues
  • Experience in a hospital, long-term care, or retirement setting is desirable
  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in recreation/leisure studies would be an asset, but not required
  • Computer skills would be an asset, with the ability to learn new software and systems
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Valid Driver's License and Class F License (preferred)
  • Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada approved Covid-19 vaccine
