We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Advantage Child Care Academy Inc.

Job Summary

The Early Childhood Assistant will provide support to our early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This role involves assisting with daily tasks, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and engaging children in activities that foster their growth and development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs and activities that promote child development
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, including housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Assist with record-keeping and submitting written observations on children
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a childcare setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Flexibility and reliability
Work Environment

The Early Childhood Assistant will work in a child care centre setting, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The work environment is dynamic and requires the ability to adapt to changing situations.
