About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Food Counter Attendant to join our team at Leader Highway Kitchen. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our food counter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and package take-out food for customers
    • Portion and wrap foods to meet customer requirements
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to order
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits for use in food preparation
  • Customer Service
    • Take customers' orders and provide excellent customer service
    • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs as needed
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Participate in diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in cultural competency training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on customer satisfaction
    • Work 30-40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime as needed
