Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Agriculture Equipment Repair Technician to join our service department as a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist for our Agriculture Division (John Deere).
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all systems on agricultural equipment such as tractors, hay tools, and other ag & turf implements. This includes engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, guidance & precision ag systems among others.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Equipment Diagnostics and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues on agricultural equipment, including engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance inspections, fluid changes, and filter replacements to ensure optimal equipment performance and extend its lifespan.
- Reconditioning: Recondition pre-owned equipment to meet high-quality standards.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by accurately recording notes on work orders, communicating with customers, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest equipment technology and industry developments to provide top-notch service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification: Heavy Equipment Technician or Agriculture Equipment Technician certification is an asset; we also consider apprentices registered under this trade.
- Experience: Previous field tech or road tech experience would be a plus.
- Computer Skills: Basic to above-average computer skills and a passion for problem-solving.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, with a strong understanding of engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
- Communication: Ability to complete detailed repair order notes on each job and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
