Exciting Opportunity in Clinical Genomics
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine's Division of Genome Diagnostics at the BC Children's and BC Women's Hospitals is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Genomic Analyst to join their team.
About the Role
This temporary full-time opportunity is anticipated to start in September 2024, with an estimated term of one year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse team to provide timely and accurate diagnostic test results, supporting the validation and verification of clinical next-generation sequencing (NGS) bioinformatic pipelines and prioritizing and classifying genetic variants.

The Division of Genome Diagnostics provides academic pediatric, adult, and maternal-fetal medicine care for the province, focusing on the diagnosis of inherited disease using genetic and genomic approaches. Qualifications
- A PhD in Human Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, or equivalent field.
- Two years of post-doctoral or equivalent experience in NGS analysis and variant assessment in human genetic disease.
- Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatic tools and databases, with knowledge of genetic variant interpretation.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- A demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs.
- Preference given to those with experience in clinical computational infrastructure and NGS analysis.
