Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Trades Helper to join our team at ESSKAY HOMES INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist in various tasks related to construction, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning and lubricating equipment, and erecting and dismantling scaffolding.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Clean and lubricate cranes, hoists, and other heavy equipment.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and other temporary structures.
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move, and place equipment and materials.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and in dusty environments.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) training.
  • Experience with industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
