Job SummaryWe're seeking a skilled Family Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our Project Parent Family Counsellor team, you'll provide counselling, parent-education, and support to families and children (birth - 12 years) referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). This role involves linkage between the family, the community, MCFD, and other professional services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide counselling and parent-education services to families and children
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support family needs
- Collaborate with community agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support
- Conduct home visits and provide support to families in their homes
- Masters degree in a social science (e.g. MSW/MA/MEd in counselling psychology) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with children ages birth - 12 years
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures
- Excellent crisis intervention skills
- Ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds
